Gear you'll Need

You will not need to rent a car unless you want to.

The approach from most hotels in the town of Ouray is about 15 minutes to the top of the nearest anchors. Top rope set-up is on the menu for starters. The anchors consist of hangers and chains.

Top rope set up:
locking beiners
webbing or cordalette or some static line.
60m rope

You will need your own ice climbing gear unless you wish to rent from the shop in town-4 blocks max from any hotel.

-picks, crampons, mountaineering boots, helmet, harness, gloves-ice climbing apparel and warm base layer (duh!!!).

-screws can be helpful not necessary unless you are leading or need to re-direct the rope or set an a ground anchor etc...... a 10 or 16 anything in between; 22 for rigging an abalakov for shits & giggles

-60M rope is sufficient for most climbs. The routes in the Grad school climbs are 45M and , most other climbs are in the 20-30M range.
